The Winter Wonderland that is The Languedoc
Snow and ice are not the first things that come to mind when considering the south of France but that is what we have been experiencing this week in shedloads. The countryside looks like a scene from The Ice Queen as snow clings to the vines and robins hop from olive tree to olive tree. It is breathtakingly beautiful. And after a day of snow-laden skies and blizzard conditions, the sun comes out and everything sparkles. Sadly, the sun also signals the big thaw but for the space of a morning, we have blue skies, Mediterranean warm sun and no wind. It is perfect.
