Restaurant of the week: Les Vagues in Grau d’Agde

It’s safe to say that everybody loves summer, but the question is, how do you make it even better? You spend the day at Les Vagues in Grau d’Agde!

Now I know you’re probably thinking that it’s a bit strange to spend a day in a restaurant, but once you hear about this one, you’ll understand exactly what I’m talking about.

Les Vagues is right on the beach, and when I say right on the beach, I don’t mean that it’s got the beach in front of it, I mean that you can literally be sitting at a table, drinking a cocktail, with your feet in the sand!

Les Vagues is separated into three parts, first of all you have the restaurant, which is overlooking the beach. The service is fantastic and the food is delicious, I don’t think I’ve ever had a nicer meal, than the one I had there. There is a wide variety of food to choose from, as well as cocktails and drinks. If you’re lucky, you can snag a table overlooking the sea, which makes for an even better experience.

The second part of Les Vagues is the bar. The bar is situated on the sand, opposite the restaurant. If you’re just looking to have a little snack or brunch rather than a big meal, then I would definitely recommend this place. There is lots of delicious food to choose from on the snack menu, including salads, burgers, steaks and seafood. The cocktails served at the bar, are to die for! Red berry virgin cocktails, exotic fruits cocktails, and – brace yourselves – there is even an apple crumble cocktail! It doesn’t sound very delicious, but having already tasted it, it’s safe to say that it was a really tasty drink! The desserts are very impressive too, everything from a Café Gourmand (this is what I always order, it’s a small cup of coffee, surrounded by about 5 mini desserts. The coffee is always passed over to whoever drinks it, and the desserts are all for me!) to ice cream, cheesecakes and brownies.

The third and final part of Les Vagues, is the relaxing sun beds. You can reserve sun beds at the bar, for either half a day or a full day. They are all directly in front of the bar and you can even ask to have your food or drinks brought to you whilst sunbathing, with your feet in the water.

Les Vagues is such an amazing place to go to, and is a fantastic day out for the whole family. All of the staff speak english so there are no language barriers, and they are often eager to practice!
