TOURNOI DE JOUTES – VIAS

05 August 2016

Water jousting is fun for the whole family, and this year it is being held on the Canal du Midi in Vias. “Tintaine Knights” take part in multiple singular fights, where they attempt to throw their opponents into the water using spears, while the rest of their teammates watch it unfold from the safety of the boat. Every year tourists and locals alike join together to watch this absolutely hilarious sport, just waiting to see the French jousters be thrown into the dirty canal, and have to make their way back to dry land where they can have a glass of wine and a hot dog.
