Visiting Sète

Sète has always been one of my favourite destinations in France, it’s vibrant and exciting, yet picturesque and relaxing.

There are many great things about Sète, one of which is its gorgeous beach. The whole family can go on down, and spend the day relaxing on the white sand, or in the refreshing blue water.

Sète is located at the mouth of the Canal du Midi, and has therefore been turned into a port. You can spend your evenings enjoying a delicious meal, at one of the many restaurants, right next to the port.

If you’re looking for fun activities to do, then one thing you might be interested in is the local jousting competitions. Every year, lots of people gather around the water, to watch these jousters battle it out on boats, until one (or both) of them fall in! Once in the water, they swim over to each other and either shake hands, or give each other a kiss on the cheek, which is always heart warming to see.

There is also a boat that can take you out into the harbour, which is lots of fun for the whole family!
