At this time of year, the Languedoc offers skiers excellent access to resorts in the Pyrenees and the Cévennes. Lovers of cross-country or Nordic skiing often head to the Cévennes while downhill enthusiasts prefer the Pyrenees.
Come the weekend, skiers will be heading up to the mountains for a long day of snow fun. Most ski stations can be reached within a 2.5 hours’ drive from Béziers. Leave at 6am, return at 8pm; it’s a long day but, hey, you’re not driving and you can sleep on the coach. This is a very cost-effective way of enjoying the winter wonderland.
