Making skiing as easy as taking the Blue Run – The Languedoc, South of France

At this time of year, the Languedoc offers skiers excellent access to resorts in the Pyrenees and the Cévennes. Lovers of cross-country or Nordic skiing often head to the Cévennes while downhill enthusiasts prefer the Pyrenees.

Come the weekend, skiers will be heading up to the mountains for a long day of snow fun.  Most ski stations can be reached within a 2.5 hours’ drive from Béziers. If a 5-hour round-trip plus a tiring day on the pistes is too much to contemplate then consider joining a local ski club. This is the ideal way to enjoy occasional days out. Leave at 6am, return at 8pm; it’s a long day but, hey, you’re not driving and you can sleep on the coach. This is a very cost-effective way of enjoying the winter wonderland. The Ski Club of Nissan-Lez-Ensérune hires out equipment on a Thursday evening, loads it all up for you in the coach on the Saturday and off you go. They even take care of the skipasses and get you a hefty discount into the bargain. Easy-peasy.
